Ho’oponopono begins with the question, “Who am I?
When you are asked “Who am I?”, you may often think of your gender, age, occupation, nationality, passions, family structure, and role within it.
However, Ho’oponopono teaches that the various conditions that represent the “I” that we usually imagine are the ones that need to be cleaned, and that we must first know the essential self that lies beyond them.
Problem solving is the process of returning to that true self, or in other words, cleaning what appears as a problem in order to return to your true self.
If you are experiencing difficulty in living your true self, living a life that is not your true self, and if you are suffering, that is exactly the opportunity for cleaning.
The true self, or “I,” is the self that is free from all experiences.
