Conversations in Tokyo on Ho‘oponopono — Caroline Kawaianuenue Sayres
Episode 2
"Whenever there's a problem, you're always there."
This is Episode 2 of our series, Conversations in Tokyo on Ho‘oponopono. In Tokyo, Irene Taira sat down with Instructor Caroline Kawaianuenue Sayres.
The conversation begins with the early classes of Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona. Some people fell asleep, and that was okay if their Unihipili got it; taking a class meant educating our own inner child. Then come two things Ihaleakala Hew Len said.
"And then the other thing was, there's nothing outside of ourselves."
Through her husband's long illness, after his cardiologist told them it was end stage, Caroline cleaned on the part of her that resisted, and stayed. After his passing, they were able to thank each other.
"But man, life is eternal. You know? Love is eternal."
The conversation turns to the day her mother asked for Ho'oponopono for her brother, the meaning of her mother's words "to thine own self be true," which Caroline heard all the time growing up, and letting children be, without expectations.
"We can be more and more ourselves as we clean."
Finally, Irene shares what she saw while traveling in Asia with Ihaleakala Hew Len. He treated everything with deep respect, from one single small spoon to the cleaning lady.
"It's just a state. It's just a state of memory replaying."
