Engaging in cleaning brings us back into rhythm.
At one point, Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len compared this to jumping rope. He described the act of effortlessly jumping into the ropes, where thereafter, there’s no thought, just the body bouncing in perfect rhythm. This state, he said, is when cleaning is effectively at work.
As you practice cleaning, its effects naturally occur. Then, one by one, you clean with any emerging doubts or discomforts, even if they are about the cleaning process itself, treating them as newly surfaced memories to be cleaned.
In the midst of this practice, there comes a time when you suddenly realize that you are effortlessly and rhythmically jumping through the ‘ropes’ of life, without any resistance.
