Today is the day that I choose to clean. It is a new day. In every moment there is the opportunity to get to the cleaning with whatever is inside of me. I get to look, to do self-introspection and gauge my thoughts, words, deeds and actions. Did I clean? Can I clean? Can I let go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It happens in a moment \u2013 I ask \u2018What am I experiencing in this moment? How can I clean? What tools am I inspired to use in this moment?\u2019
Without judgement (especially of self), without guilt, without anger, I can acknowledge the experience. Whether a thought, emotion or action, and no matter what it is, I can clean with it.
In this way, I begin to shift, grow and evolve. From the atoms and molecules and cells around me, it is an ever-widening ripple. As I clean that which is inside of me, the things around me begin to reflect these changes. And ultimately my experience of those people, places, finances, health, those things around me, shift also.<\/p>\n\n\n

Sometimes I stop thinking about them. And sometimes my awareness is heightened, and I see that my life is getting lighter, richer and more deeply in love with those beings around me. I become more appreciative and grateful for the profound gifts that I have been given.
And I don\u2019t clean in order to get those results. I don\u2019t expect anything. I look, I notice, I clean. I look, I notice, I clean. I do this over and over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I am grateful to each of you for your willingness to clean. I am grateful for the time spent in Korea to experience the gentle strength that emanates from the land and people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To clean with the depth of the history that is present here and gives us so many of our traditions and ways of being in the world.

Momilani Ramstrum, Ph.D. In 1983, she attended a SITH mini-lecture given by Morrnah on the island of Oahu and has been a staff member ever since. She was one of the few who received training as an instructor directly from Morrnah. She is a professor and music director at Mesa College in San Diego, California, and in recent years has taken up painting, inspired by cleaning, which has been the subject of several exhibitions.
