What I recall first about Morrnah is the phrase she always used\u2014\u201cLook at yourself.\u201d
It was like her personal mantra.
Once, during a class, a woman asked,
\u201cMy daughter is about to give birth. Will it be a boy or a girl?\u201d
Morrnah answered quietly,
\u201cThat is not a question you should ask. It is an invasion of privacy.\u201d
The woman then asked,
\u201cIf I am experiencing a negative situation, isn\u2019t it possible that it\u2019s the other person\u2019s fault?\u201d
Morrnah replied immediately,
\u201cIt is not.\u201d
In that moment the entire room fell silent.
Her words carried deep conviction and calm.
Morrnah often said, \u201cI have no followers.\u201d
We wondered why, since many people feel they need a group or companions for support.
But she said,
\u201cHo\u2019oponopono is a process between you and Divinity within you.
Nothing else is necessary.
Your true support is your \u2018inner family\u2019\u2014the inner father, mother, and child becoming one,
and connecting with Divinity.\u201d
She also said,
\u201cThe essence of Ho\u2019oponopono is discovering your inner divinity.
Divinity is not somewhere outside; it is within you.\u201d
Cleaning is the process in which you and your inner family explore your relationship with Divinity together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<How to View Children and Gaming><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2500\u2500 These days, many children seem absorbed in games and videos. Parents often end up scolding, \u201cAre you playing again?\u201d Perhaps that very moment is a chance to \u201clook at yourself.\u201d Jean, as parents, how can we clean with what appears to be a child\u2019s \u201cgame dependence\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Begin by cleaning with the thoughts and feelings you hold about electronic games. \u2500\u2500 To be honest, sometimes it feels very difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, it\u2019s natural to feel that way. \u2500\u2500 Sometimes I can\u2019t help taking away my child\u2019s game device, and afterward I feel guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can clean with that guilt as well. \u2500\u2500 Thank you. Anger, irritation, impatience\u2014
clean with whatever thoughts and emotions arise in that moment.
Any tool is fine.
Ask yourself, \u201cWhat about electronic games is triggering a reaction in me?\u201d
What you truly seek is harmony for the whole family through guidance from Divinity.
Include everything in your cleaning\u2014your partner\u2019s reactions, the scenes where your child talks about games with friends.
For example, if you feel a flicker of annoyance when you see your child gaming with friends, use a tool right then.
Ho\u2019oponopono is the practice of cleaning \u201cin this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Start small.
Ask yourself, \u201cWhat memories in me are producing this experience?\u201d
We are not here to \u201ccorrect\u201d situations;
we are here to clean with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whatever choice you made, there is always hope.
Even regret becomes material for cleaning.
Clean with the very experience of \u201cbeing a parent\u201d\u2014
the joys, the worries, the anxieties about the future\u2014include all of it.
That is what it means to \u201clook at yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet every person is created perfect.
The problems we experience are produced by memories within ourselves.
We may act under the sway of anger or fear.

As parents, we often accumulate many \u201cshoulds\u201d without realizing it.
All of those notions can be cleaned.
