In the cleaning method of Ho\u2019oponopono taught by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, the most important aspect of life is to clean past memories and return to the state of Zero.
But why is returning to Zero the path to a better life?
What changes when we are able to return to that state?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When memories are erased, your true self emerges<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Buddhism, the concept of Zero represents complete freedom. By letting go\u2014becoming Zero\u2014you can delete the attachments, preconceptions, prejudices, and memories that you have unknowingly accumulated. Only then can your true nature shine through. This is made possible through cleaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, suppose you wish to change your destiny. From my perspective, destiny is simply the sum of your memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To say, \u201cIt was my fate to become ill,\u201d or \u201cIt was my destiny to marry this person,\u201d is a misunderstanding. These events occur due to unconscious \u201cmemories of illness\u201d or \u201cmemories of dependency\u201d you carry. In other words, everything happens because the memories stored in your subconscious are being replayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Returning to Zero is essential for living<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may have inherited memories related to illness from your ancestors long before you were conscious. Likewise, you may have met your partner because of an unresolved relationship from the past. These situations are opportunities given to you by Divinity to clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The words for cleaning are always the same four: \u201cThank you. I\u2019m sorry. Please forgive me. I love you.\u201d Among them, \u201cI love you\u201d contains the essence of the other three. As you continue to repeat them, even without being aware, you begin to experience the feeling of release at a subconscious level, returning to the state of Zero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the defenses you\u2019ve built around yourself dissolve, you begin to love yourself, and then you can love your partner as well. Every day becomes more joyful, filled with a deep sense of fulfillment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing yourself back to Zero is vitally important in life. As you continue your cleaning, things will naturally start to shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re someone who feels concerned for your partner but often acts distant, I encourage you to devote yourself to cleaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than wishing to change your destiny, focus on cleaning. When you do, everything will automatically begin to change.
There\u2019s no need to overthink it. Just keep repeating the four phrases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ihaleakala Hew Len, Ph.D. heir to SITH Ho’oponopono and a leader in its spread throughout the world. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1962, then the University of Utah, and received his doctorate from the University of Iowa in 1973, where he was Dean of Education and Director of Special Education. He later became President of the Medical College and Assistant Professor of Education, then Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii in 1974, and Executive Director of the Hawaii Association for the Mentally Handicapped in 1976, where he worked on rehabilitation of offenders and support programs for the physically handicapped. He was a frequent speaker at the United Nations, UNESCO, and World Peace Conferences, etc. He passed away on January 15, 2022 at the age of 82.
